Haley launched a coalition aimed at supporting Iowa’s farmers called “Farmers for Haley.” Agriculture is an essential part of Iowa’s economy and identity, so politicians often give at least some token support to farmers. Trump won the former swing state by eight points in 2020, and Republicans are hoping to recreate this success in 2024.

November 9
The day after the debate everyone is debating among themselves about who won. Meanwhile, Haley attacked fellow candidate Ron DeSantis on the China issue.
She received an endorsement of her foreign policy from the Wall Street Journal’s Opinions page. For subscribers, check it out here.
Haley also said in an interview that she would “crush” Biden.
November 10
Haley appeared on Fox News today, where she attacked President Biden and his policy on China. Here is just one comment she made:
“I think you’ve seen Biden has begged for this meeting, right? He sent four cabinet members to China to go and try and court the Chinese. And so now they’re going to grant him a meeting. But the key is, what’s he going to talk about in the meeting? What he should talk about in the meeting is the fact that they have to stop murdering Americans by sending fentanyl. They have to stop stealing our intellectual property so that they can build up their military. They have to tell us why they’re putting a military and spy base in Cuba just off our shores.There’s a lot of questions we need to talk about, but the one thing I can promise you is going to come out is they’re going to have a conversation about the weather and talk about the environment and talk about how they’re going to work together on that. He’s not going to call them out on anything else… They’re not scared of Joe Biden.”

It’s Remembrance Day in the U.K. and Veterans Day in the US. Haley paid tribute to America’s military heroes, including her own husband Michael Haley.
November 12
Haley wished everybody a happy Diwali.
South Carolina Senator and rival candidate Tim Scott called time on his candidacy, having faced low polling numbers. Haley paid tribute to Scott. With one more person out of the race, where will potential voters and supporters go? Haley seems like a natural choice as a fellow South Carolinian, but is that guaranteed?
Nikki Haley’s week was dominated by the debate, which polling indicates that she has done well in. Otherwise, it was generally all about Israel and the crisis in the Middle East. She may have scored a boon with Scott’s exit from the race but time will tell whether she gains from this. Let’s see if there is a post-debate lift for Haley and her campaign.
