Nikki Haley used Memorial Day to talk about veterans. She reiterated her plans to reform the Veterans’ Administration and the system itself.

Haley went for Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump once again. She criticised DeSantis for voting for a debt increase deal five years ago and Trump for signing it. Haley stated that the best way to stop the growing debt is to “elect people who have not been part of the problem.”

TikTok was in the firing line today. Haley called for a ban of the Chinese-owned app used by millions of Americans. Some states are moving forward with banning the app on any government devices due to concerns about spyware. It is also banned on devices owned by the federal government. Moves to have it completely banned have been stopped thus far.
She also opposed foreign aid to countries that “hate” America such as Russia and China.
Haley was the keynote speaker at the Prescott Bush Dinner in Connecticut. The dinner saw 500 guests watch speeches and see awards being given. Prescott Bush was the father of George H. W. Bush and the grandfather of George W. Bush, and was a Senator for Connecticut.
June 1
Haley’s husband Michael is due to be deployed for a year-long stint in Africa. He is a member of the South Carolina National Guard and his deployment will coincide with most of his wife’s campaign.
Polls had her at an average of 4.5%. This is lower than Trump, DeSantis, and Pence.
June 2
Haley talked about trans women competing in female sports once again.
She also criticised Kim Jong Un and accused him of starving his own people. North Korea has won a seat on the World Health Organization’s Executive Board, something that has widely been condemned. This could be a dig at former President Donald Trump, who wrote a social media post congratulating the North Korean dictator. Will Haley say more?

Haley attended a fundraising event in Iowa called “Roast and Ride.” The event is held by Iowa’s Senator Joni Ernst and involves motorcycles and meat. It’s a very typical middle America kind of event that attracts top Republicans. Haley did not participate in the charity ride, though Mike Pence did. She was the seventh and penultimate speaker.
June 4
Haley did a town hall with CNN from Iowa, moderated by Jake Tapper. Discussion varied from veterans and the border crisis to abortion and gun laws. This allowed Haley to air her views on all of the issues of the day, something she likely hopes will sway voters.
Nikki Haley was busy out on the trail this week, from town halls to dinners. Her polling has slightly increased but she’s nowhere near the top. With a new contender in the form of Mike Pence, Haley will be continuing to fight. She will be in the Lone Star state of Texas in the coming week.
