Beginning in the summer of 2017, newly-elected Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene began writing articles for a now-defunct site known as AmericanTruthSeekers.com under the pseudonym “Elizabeth Camp”. Over time, these writings gradually shifted to be under her real name.
These articles reveal a devotion to any number of conspiracy theories, ranging from extensive support for QAnon to allegations of a worldwide pedophilia ring run by elites. Other articles showed her belief in conspiracy theories revolving around the death of Seth Rich, the Las Vegas shooting, the JFK assasination, the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, and white genocide.
Elizabeth Camp
Before writing under her real name, Greene wrote under the pseudonym “Elizabeth Camp”. We know this is her due to web.archive.org, which kept an archive version of Elizabeth Camp’s author page. The later archives automatically redirect to Greene’s page. While much of her work is inaccessible due to a lack of archiving, the earliest and most recent articles were mostly archived.
Over the course of her time at the site, Greene wrote at least 59 articles. The content of these articles ranged from fairly benign – one post covered an earthquake in Mexico – to patently false. Many of them peddled any number of conspiracy theories.
QAnon and Satanist Pedophile Rings
In her writings for AmericanTruthSeekers.com, Marjorie Taylor Greene did much more than just flirt with the QAnon conspiracy. She actively promoted and praised it. In the article “QAnon: What Is The Storm? And Is There About To Be An Awakening???”, published in January 2018, she called “Q”, the supposed leaker at the center of the conspiracy, a “patriot”. She claimed that Q was being attacked because he provided hard truths.
Greene cited an article from Magapill.com which asserted that a “Global Cabal of Satan worshiping pedophiles” would be uncovered. The article also claimed that “there are people in this world buying children to rape and kill them as sacrifices” that would be exposed and arrested en masse. She also cited a second article, “Who is “Q”, the Truth Seeker Exposing the Deep State?”, which claimed that Q’s drops were “completely factual and… proven to be truthful in the future.” At the end of the article, she urged readers to follow a QAnon forum on 4chan. Another article by Greene, tilted “The Invisible War that is Currently Raging!! Deep State, QAnon Post, and #ReleaseTheMemo”, is seemingly lost.
An earlier article by Greene from September 2017, titled “MUST READ – Democratic Party Involved With Child Sex, Satanism, and The Occult”, repeated false claims that John Podesta was a Satanist engaged in “Spirit Cooking” and that Hillary Clinton was an active practioner of voodoo. She said that these were “not conspiracy theory” but instead based on “factual data.”
Gun Control Conspiracy Theories
Greene’s history with the Parkland shooting has been well documented, but she also promoted conspiracies related to the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. In an article on October 9 titled “Possible Las Vegas Motive Uncovered???”, Greene speculated that the Las Vegas shooter committed the mass shooting in order to cause gun control laws to be passed. She seemed to imply that the FBI was withholding evidence on the crime in furtherance of that goal.
Antifa and White Genocide
In an October 2017 article titled “ANTIFA ‘Playbook’ Leaked! MUST READ!”, Greene alleged that a book known as “The Antifa Playbook” had been leaked online. Greene claimed that “their plan actually ends with the ultimate goal of a One World Government” and to “blame the worlds [sic] problems on white men.”
This would be done by killing white men and using microchips to “control the masses.” In America, this would be accomplished by ensuring that “people of color, LGBTQ, little people, and disabled people, and Muslims will be the majority.”
She also claimed that “Antifa wants abortion to be on demand for white people in order to limit and reduce the growth rates of the white population.” This unusual fascination with birth rates is typical of advocates of the white genocide conspiracy theory, a favorite of the alt-right.
Miscellaneous Conspiracy Theories
Articles from Marjorie Taylor Greene repeatedly made false claims regarding the 2016 election. In multiple articles, Greene claimed that Clinton rigged the 2016 Democratic Party against Bernie Sanders. She also repeated false claims that Clinton, along with George Soros, were funding Antifa. She repeated false claims that the “Unite the Right Rally”, a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville that resulted in dozens of injuries and three deaths, was an “inside job.” In the article, she speculated that former President Barack Obama might have been responsible.
In an article from September 2017, Greene claimed that Mexican immigrants were engaging in a “Reconquista” so that the entire southwestern United States could be conquered by Mexico. In an article from November 2017, Greene falsely claimed that Pizzagate was real, that Seth Rich was murdered on the orders of Podesta, that Clinton rigged the primary against Sanders, and that Podesta was a pedophile.
As recently as 2019, she maintained in an article that Democrats were guilty of treason for their immigration policies. In that same article, she went on to say that:
“There was a day not too long ago where men fought and died to gain freedom from a tyrannical government right here in this country. In that day, if people in our newly created government of the United States of America would have committed treason, the American people would have ripped them out of their seats of power and hung them in the streets.”
Conclusion
These articles show a clear and consistent pattern. Marjorie Taylor Greene was not just a passive consumer of conspiracy theories – rather, she was an aggressive advocate for the most outrageous conspiracy theories on the internet.
These articles make clear, her persona is far from just a cynical electoral play. Even before she ran for office, she was promoting these conspiracies wholeheartedly. To whoever would listen. In fact, it seems that Greene’s public statements have gotten more subdued since she decided to run for office, not less.
Greene is already facing calls for censure and expulsion for her public statements on social media profiles. With the possibility of even more to come in the future, these calls will likely not be going anywhere any time soon.
